How to safeguard your lash extensions when spray tanning

Hey Beauty! Are you as excited as I am for the warmer days ahead? Nothing like spring sunshine to make us want to freshen up our look. If you're thinking about getting a spray tan to kick off the season and you're rocking lash extensions, I’ve got the tea on how to do both beautifully without a hitch.

What’s Up With Spray Tanning?

So, you want that gorgeous sun-kissed glow without the sun's harsh effects? Enter spray tanning—a quick, safe way to bronze up. The main ingredient here is DHA, which changes your skin color safely. It’s great for your skin, but it can be a bit of a party crasher for some lash adhesives if we're not careful.

All About Those Lashes

Lash extensions are my favorite cheat for stunning eyes 24/7. But, traditional glue that keeps them looking perfect can be pretty sensitive to certain elements. Traditional lash glue doesn’t play well with some chemicals and loves to stay dry.

Navigating Spray Tans with Lash Extensions

  • Watch the Chemistry: DHA can mess with traditional glue on your lashes. If they start falling out sooner than usual, now you know why!

  • Keep 'Em Dry: If your lashes get too wet from the tanning mist and haven’t had a couple of days to set properly, you might run into some issues.

  • Cover Up Smartly: Protecting your lashes from direct contact with the tan spray will make a big difference. Consider using eyewear like goggles during your spray tan session to shield your eyes.

Why LED Lashes?

LED lash extensions are a game changer when it comes to durability and resilience, especially useful for spray tanning aficionados. The advanced adhesive used for LED lashes is more resistant to oils and moisture, which means they can stand up better to the DHA in tanning solutions, keeping your lashes perfect for longer.

Tips for Lash-Tan Harmony:

  1. Barrier Tactics: Wearing goggles or eye shields during your tanning session can effectively protect your extensions from any mist.

  2. Timing is Everything: Give your new lash extensions about 48 hours to fully set before heading in for a spray tan. This helps the adhesive cure properly and strengthens your lash game.

  3. Post-Tan Care: Be gentle with your lashes after both procedures. Keep them clean and brushed out. Avoid any rubbing or oil-based cleansers.

Thinking of Switching Things Up?

If you’re a bit nervous about spray tans messing with your lashes, LED lashes might just be the answer. They’re built to last and resist those pesky tanning chemicals much better than traditional lash glue.

Spring is all about feeling fresh and fabulous. With a little planning, your lash extensions can totally handle whatever your spring beauty routine throws at them.
